Doug Bystry has been providing financial services to low-income communities
throughout California for over 35 years. He is the founder and President/CEO of a
leading Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), with over $850 million in
total assets. Mr. Bystry, in his professional career, has successfully raised and deployed
over $2 billion for low-income and distressed communities, mostly in California.
Mr. Bystry is regarded as a leading expert and innovator in both community/economic
development and both non-profit and for-profit management. He is the co-founder of a
private equity fund designed to reduce the minority wealth gap in this country.
Mr. Bystry previously served as a City Council member and Housing Commissioner in
the County of Orange. He currently serves on an advisory board working to increase
insurance industry community investments in California. Mr. Bystry serves on several
other local nonprofit boards promoting affordable housing, economic development and
well being. He is a UCLA graduate.
